We, DB Smashers, are a cricket club based in Discovery Bay, Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong.
The club was founded in 2015 by a few ardent cricket fans wanting to have a community cricket training facility for kids closer to home.
We were ably supported by ex-Hong Kong International Cricketer Ankur Vashishta in laying the foundations of our training plans.
What makes us unique is, that we are still managed by volunteer parents who contribute their time to help children from the community learn cricket, camaraderie, teamwork, and above all have fun.
Starting from 15 kids and one league team in 2015-16, we currently train ~50 kids across the 6 to 17-year age group, supported by 7 accredited coaches with stellar records in HK and international cricket and five junior league cricket teams participating in Cricket Hong Kong Organized tournaments.
During our relatively short existence, we have already emerged as one of the premier junior clubs in Hong Kong.
We have won 6 Championships across age groups in tournaments organized by Cricket Hong Kong and 4 junior athletes who have trained with us are now a part of HK U19/HK National/Japan U19 squads.
